What will it cost?
First, the "incidentals"
In addition to your new website you will need to
get two things; a domain name and an Internet
Service Provider. Costs vary, depending on
the terms you choose and the size of your site,
but we suggest you budget in the area of $300 a
year to cover your ISP website hosting, dialup (by
modem) email/browsing access and domain name registration.
If you prefer high-speed Internet connectivity for
your email/browsing needs, such as Cable or DSL,
the costs for these services average from about
$40 to $50 per month. Business website hosting
is not normally included in these rate packages.
Next, the Web Design itself
Work can be costed on a strict hourly basis or on
a project basis. Many Web Designers require
the execution of a detailed contract for service,
whereas some do not. There are pros and cons
involved with each.
Selecting the right designer at the right price
can be challenging - but here is something to bear
in mind: You'll typically be dealing with
less-experienced designers with fewer tools and
skills at the bottom end of the rate scale, and
with larger design firms at the upper end, who must
factor in some often-significant overhead expenses.
The best of
both worlds . . .
The
good news? There is a place where excellence
in design, exceptional service and fair pricing can
all come together - with the home based professional
Web Designer.
